Military Vehicle Foundation Tour (Sep 2009)
The PCA arranged a tour for us at the Military Vehicle Foundation, which is renowned for the their huge collection of military equipment. One of the most interesting pieces was the WWII era German Panther V, which had resided at the bottom of a river in Poland for ~40 years before undergoing a complete restoration. A spectacular restoration and tank!
After seeing the Panther and the shop where the work was on going, we then toured the four additional buildings that house the collection. The collection is very diverse, and I did not get the details of most of the equipment. Some items of interest were Scud launchers, a 1918 tank, a tracked motorcycle, various amphibious vehicles, etc... And of course lots of tanks!
