This trip was originally going to be a trip to Desolation Wilderness in mid-October, then the govt shutdown happened. In retrospect, we could have gone and probably would not have had any issues, but once that became clear we had already rescheduled. So when mid-November rolled around, it was definitely too late for the Sierras, as the idea of frozen water bottles does not entice me. So, instead, Omi and I headed south to Ventana Wilderness  and had a very enjoyable 3day/2night trip with great weather, excellent scenery, and no shortage of steep trails.
