This year I joined up with a group from the Stanford Outdoor Club with the goal of hiking Mt Whitney. In order to acclimate to the altitude and get in a high-elevation practice hike, we camped two nights at Saddlebag Lake and hiked to the top of Mt Dana. At 13,061 ft elevation, Mt Dana is the second highest peak in Yosemite NP. After summiting Mt Dana, some of us went went for dinner at the famous Lee Vining Mobil station and then caught the sunset at Mono Lake.
